Ruth Strickland

Ruth has been a Director of Managed Technology Services Limited (MTS) since April 2000 and is responsible for bidding and operating all Health and Education equipment contracts.

Ruth is responsible for a team of 12 full time specialists and for the associate and sub-contractors used to support us in key areas. She has recently led the successful delivery of our first Education projects and will continue to develop both Health and Education as key strategies for the Company.

Ruth Strickland has extensive experience of managing PFI Projects in Healthcare. She has been involved in PFI Design and Build projects since the inception of PFI. She worked on the early Development schemes for Dartford and Gravesham, North Staffs and Princess Margaret, Swindon and Law Hospital. It was during her time at Tarmac ServiceMaster that Ruth developed a solution for the inclusion of a wider remit of equipment within the DBO projects. In 1998 Ruth set up the UK operation of Hospitalia International, a specialist Equipment Company operating abroad.

Hospitalia International had equipped large design and build hospitals all over the world. Early projects for Hospitalia included the Newham PFI and Trust Procurement for Lanarkshire Acute Hospitals (two PFI’s within one Trust, equipment valued at £22m).

The Management of the Lanarkshire Procurement Project was sub contracted to Managed Technology Services Ltd. She joined Caroline Finlay and Managed Technology Services Ltd in April 2000 and has been a director ever since, including a Director of Tribal Consulting Ltd during the 4 years Managed Technology Services were owned by them. MTS are independent once again from 1st August 2007.
