MTS have been working with the Mid Essex Hospital Services NHS Trust for the past two years. The Trust is now fully operational having moved many of their services in to the new building. The hospital, a PFI hospital constructed by Bouygues is five storeys of accommodation including Theatres, Radiology, Cardiac Centre, A&E and Emergency Assessment unit, 330 inpatient beds and a number of supporting services. The new facilities also include Women's and Children's services that have been relocated from St. John's Hospital.
MTS were appointed to provide the interface between design, construction and the requirements of the clinical teams for equipment that would meet their clinical needs and could be delivered within the overall budget. During the equipping process MTS have transposed the Room Data sheets in to the procurement lists for each department and have also managed the transfer of existing equipment suitable for transfer.
MTS has provided specifications for all equipment and achieved sign off by clinical end users prior to the Trust physically placing the orders. MTS have then assisted in the management of the deliveries and placing of equipment in to the correct locations and all other equipment commissioning activities.
This is the first major whole hospital project where the MTS E-quip procurement system has been installed on the Trust server. This has been a huge success and has led to a very transparent and accurate data management process giving Trust personnel including finance and commercial services full viewing and editing rights over the equipment information at all times.
The fully commissioned hospital is one that MTS are very proud to have been associated with.
The fully commissioned hospital is one that MTS are very proud to have been associated with Nigel Heath, Hospital Re-development Programme Manager said "MTS were an important and valued member of the Broomfield 2010 project team and made a significant contribution to the success of the project".
MTS are delighted to have been awarded the contract to undertake the Trust's equipment procurement. The contract relates to the Trust's Procure 21 project for Paediatric Theatres, HIV / GUM, Day Case and associated services. The project has been designed by Studio 4 and built by BAM Construction. The extension is on the Netherton Grove site. MTS will be assisting the Trust in the procurement of the medical and non medical-equipment, which includes for 4 new operating theatres. The extension is planned in 2 phases, the first in March 2011, and the second in December 2011.
MTS will be working alongside the Trust in the preparation of Equipment Specifications, Equipment Budgets, User Review meetings, Procurement Packages; construction and commissioning programmes. MTS will also be using its own bespoke Equipment Procurement Management tool, E-QUIP. This has already been successfully used at Chelmsford Hospital and Barts and the London, both of which are now fully operational.
The first phase of the redevelopment of Barts Hospital in London has been completed as part of the 42 year PFI project for the Barts and The London NHS Trust. This first phase includes a Radiotherapy and Cancer centre. MTS has been working alongside the Trust for 2 years assisting in the development of the equipment procurement for all the non-medical aspects. All of the furniture was chosen with the users' input and in budget. MTS provided the technical support to the Trust in the development of the specifications, the confirmation of quantities and cost, the analysis of the suppliers from the NHS framework, the liaison with the Procurement team and the tracking of orders and ensuring items were delivered on time to the correct location. This was undertaken using the MTS E-QUIP Procurement Project Management tool.
MTS is proud to have worked alongside the Trust and delivered such a prestigious project.
MTS has commenced the equipment procurement of The London Phase, which includes 3 towers, the highest of which has 17 storeys. This is due to be commissioned and open in December 2011.
